As part of the first meeting of the Scientific and Operational Committee of La Réunion, BRIDGES is organizing a scientific seminar and discussion forum on the initial results for La Réunion:

It will consist of five sessions:
🐟 Presentation of BRIDGES
🌐 Development of an interdisciplinary digital environment on coastal and marine socio-ecosystems (SES) in the southwestern Indian Ocean.
🔭 Definition and implementation of an innovative observatory for marine SES in the southwestern Indian Ocean
➡️ Characterizing transformations in marine SES in the southwestern Indian Ocean
🎣 Recreational and informal fishing: what are the challenges for the Réunion Marine Nature Reserve?

Launch of the Scientific and Operational Committee (CSO) of Réunion

Why this committee? BRIDGES relies on strategic governance involving research and governance stakeholders at each of its study sites.

This Committee, which will be launched on the morning of February 5, aims to bring together scientific stakeholders working on marine socio-ecosystems in Réunion to inform them and discuss BRIDGES activities at the Réunion site. This committee also facilitates scientific coordination, promotes interaction, and gathers the expectations and needs of BRIDGES’ scientific partners. It will meet once a year.

In 2026, BRIDGES plans to launch CSOs at each of its other partner sites.
