Through the targeted INFORMATION project, BRIDGES has developed a catalog compiling existing data and digital resources useful for studying marine socio-ecosystems in the southwestern Indian Ocean. It serves as a foundation of data and knowledge for the BRIDGES program and, more broadly, for the region’s scientific community. |

The BRIDGES Data Working Group is a forum for discussing the program’s data. It is a collaborative space dedicated to coordinating and sharing data to promote more efficient and open research. Its goal is to consolidate, share, and leverage these resources to maximize their impact. Each meeting is an opportunity to share information, tools, or news that is useful to the community.

BRIDGES x DATA TERRA Trainings: The Third Edition in Mayotte in March 2026 |
|
This training, focused on research data management, took place from Monday, March 30, to Friday, April 3, 2026.
Objective: to strengthen the skills of various actors (academics, institutional representatives, managers, and others) regarding the research data lifecycle, within an Open Science framework that is both ethical and sustainable.
A fourth edition will be held in Mozambique during the second half of 2026. |

Call for Applications: BRIDGES x SIOMPA 2026 Training Course |
|
BRIDGES, in partnership with the MERMOZ and CO-EXISTENCE SIOMPA projects, is issuing a call for applications for a training course on marine connectivity, focusing on marine protected areas and ecological connectivity in the southwestern Indian Ocean region. The training is open to 20 doctoral and postdoctoral students, with priority given to those working with the BRIDGES and SIOMPA projects, or who are from or working in the southwestern Indian Ocean region. The training is open to participants from all disciplines. |

2026 Thesis Cluster: 2 Thesis Positions Still Open for Applications |
|
Since mid-April, BRIDGES has been seeking doctoral students to join the 2026 thesis cluster cohort.
The call for applications is now closed for 8 out of 10 theses. The application review and recruitment phase is currently underway. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly.
The calls for applications for the EPIREEF and COASTAL theses remain open until June 4 and June 5, respectively.
